Biographical Info I have practiced in family law for over 12 years. I became interested in the collaborative process as I watched the legal process fail many families in a variety of ways. I believe that this is the future of family law. The process of litigation is similar to a rickety wooden roller coaster that may never come to a complete stop. In litigation the parties have very little, if any, control of the outcome. The collaborative process is the better process that places the outcome in the hands of the participants. I generally charge a lower hourly rate than I do in litigation. I am open, under certain circumstances, to offer a flat fee. For collaborative clients or potential collaborative clients I currently do not charge for an initial consultation.
