Dori has been a practicing lawyer focusing in family law since 2002. Having handled thousands of cases over her career, including complex financial cases and complex children's cases, she is a firm believer that litigating a case is rarely the best option for a family. Litigation does not help families heal from the trauma of a breakup and usually further divides parties and may cause co-parenting problems for year.
Dori is not one to shy away from being in court. Wanting to be in the courtroom was what led her to become a lawyer. However, after many years of constantly changing laws and judge rotations, of seeing little continuity in case rulings, she thought there had to be a better way to help families work through their disagreements and protect children, rather than having children being placed in the middle of parental conflict.
Collaborative divorce is a process that helps to empower the parties during their family law case, regardless of complexity of the case. The parties do not need to be collaborative with one another, it is the professionals involved who are collaborative and motivated to help parties stay out of the cycle of litigation. It is about treating parties, who are usually in one of the most difficult times of their lives, with respect and dignity and giving them the tools and guidance to resolve their disagreements. Each party has their own attorney to provide legal advice and discuss outcomes.
Dori is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating for attorneys in legal ability and ethical standards. She has been named a Super Lawyer by other family law attorneys for 2024 and 2025. She has volunteer her time as a judge pro tem in the past and most recently continues to volunteer with FLAP (the Family Lawyers Assistance Project through Maricopa County).
